The Bhartiya Janata Party has launched a campaign song titled ‘Main Modi Ka Parivar Hoon’, just hours before the Election Commission of India is to announce the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections and Legislative Assembly elections in some states.
The song is influenced by the controversy over former union minister and former chief minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Patna on 3rd March 2024. In his address, the chief of Rashtriya Janata Dal Party said that Modi did not have a family of his own and that alleged that the PM was not even a true Hindu because he did not shave his head when his Modi passed away.
The comment created an uproar and the BJP launched its ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ campaign. In solidarity with Narendra Modi, his supporters added the suffix ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ in their social media profile names.
The PM shared the music video on his X account with the caption ‘My India, My Family’.
