The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has directed all the government employees posted under Mokokchung District to be in station with immediate effect.
The DC also stated that all heads of the offices should ensure their presence and also their subordinate officers and staffs in their respective place of posting. Permission for station leave on official duty shall be obtained from the DC with clear and specific details of such duty. Any government employee on leave of absence on medical ground shall be recalled for appearing in person before the medical board.
Disciplinary action shall be initiated against any errant officials as per section 134 of the RP act 1951.
In another order, the DC & DEO has notified to all the Printing Press in and around Mokokchung district to follow the guidelines regarding printing of Election Posters, Pamphlets etc.
He has directed all printing press to clearly indicate the materials (election posters, pamphlets, etc) the names and addresses of the printers and publishers of any such materials printed by the press.
The printing press shall furnish four (4) copies of the printed materials along with the declaration of the publishers attached within 3 days of the printing thereof to the office of the Deputy commissioner & District Election Officer.
The printing press shall also furnish the information regarding number of copies of the documents printed and the price charged for such printing job, not collectively but separately in respect of each election pamphlets, posters etc. printing by him within 3 days of the printing of each such documents.
All printing press under the district have been asked to comply with the instructions/guidelines, failing which action will be taken as per the relevant law of the state.
With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) implemented in Mokokchung district, has also the DC issued Prohibitory orders under section 144Cr.P.C, 1973 banning the carrying of licensed arms since announcement of election till the declaration of results. It further directed ex-parte all the arms licence holders under Mokokchung district to deposit their Arms Licence along with weapon at the nearest police station as per the address given in the licence on or before the 30th of March, 2024. The respective Officer -In- charge of the police stations shall furnish a detailed report on such deposit and seizure.
Failure to submit the Arms Licence and weapon within the stipulated time shall be liable to penal action as per relevant section of the law.
In another order, District Magistrate, Mokokchung also directed to all concerned, especially those villages/inhabitants residing in the border areas of the Nagaland and Assam border that the carrying of any fire arms, including Air-Guns shall remain restricted in Mokokchung district with immediate effect till the declaration of the election result.
Failure to adhere to the above directive shall be liable to penal action as per relevant section of the law.
