Lok Sabha polls 2024: Nomination papers of 3 candidates for Nagaland PC found in order during scrutiny

Kohima: Candidates, representatives witness scrutiny proceedings further bolstering transparency and accountability

The scrutiny of nomination papers filed by candidates for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 from Nagaland State was completed on Thursday. The scrutiny was carried out by Commissioner Nagaland & Returning Officer, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS in presence of General Observers P. Ramesh, IAS and Avinash Champawat, IAS.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, the following is the list of validly nominated candidates whose nomination papers were found to be in order and accepted as per the electoral guidelines and eligibility criteria issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI):

– Dr. Chumben Murry from National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)

– S Supongmeren Jamir Congress candidate (INC)

– Hayithung Tungoe Lotha Independent candidate (IND).

Meanwhile, the Congress substitute candidate nomination paper was rejected since the main candidate nomination papers were found in order.

NDPP candidate Dr Chumben Murry, IND candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha and Representative of INC candidate S Supongmeren Jamir witnessed the scrutiny proceedings further bolstering transparency and accountability for a free, fair and transparent electoral process.
