“I plan on working hard to improve myself and achieve more in the days to come,” said Akolendang, a student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. Akolendang, who hails from Ungma Village, secured the Top 2 position in the Class 12 Examination 2024 conducted by Nagaland Board of School Education with a score of 96.80 per cent.
Sharing that he is constantly trying to better his marks, Akolendang believes that his self-motivation and competition with himself led to his success, besides the Almighty’s Grace.
He told Nagaland Tribune that like any other student, he had initially struggled to strike a balance between academics and extracurricular activities. “Education means all-round development”, he asserted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a routine encompassing studies, references, and activities.
The young man said that he has fondness for economics and intends to continue his Bachelor’s studies. Sharing that he has the ambition of appearing competitive examinations, he disclosed that he has a desire to serve society and spread light to others.
Hopeful and excited, Akolendang acknowledged that this is the beginning of a lengthy journey filled with opportunities for growth and improvement.
When asked what advice he can offer to fellow students, he stressed the importance of placing faith first in every step one takes. He also emphasized on prioritizing hard work and self-improvement and encouraged fellow students to keep working, clarify every single doubt, and go the extra mile to achieve success. Akonlendang advised all to find a balanced approach to academics and extracurricular activities and further underscored the importance of maintain good health during the exam process.
