A farewell programme in honour of retiring Director, Industries & Commerce, A Temjen Jamir was held at Conference Hall, Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kohima on Tuesday.
According to DIPR, A Temjen Jamir first entered into Government service as an Extension Officer in April 1989 and went on to be promoted to the post of Director on 1st March 2023. After serving the Department for 35 years, he retired on 30th of April 2024.
A Temjen Jamir in his farewell speech attributed his success to God and thanked all the staff for their cooperation. He emphasised the gathering to embrace change and work as a team. He also called on them to continue to learn.
Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu in her speech described the retiring Director, as a man with a simple heart, humble, joyful nature and a man full of determination to work for the people. She added that the day was to celebrate the illustrious career of a man who has given so much for the people and wished him the best in his retired life.
Commissioner & Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa in his speech said the Department has witnessed phenomenal growth under the leadership of Jamir. He added that he will leave behind a rich legacy for others to follow.
Incoming Director, P. Tokugha Achumi delivered the farewell speech on behalf of the officers & staff. A special song was presented by the establishment branch.
Additional Director Er. Y. Lipongse Thongtsar chaired the programme.
