All Nagaland Adhoc Teacher's Group (ANATG) 2015 batch protesting in Kohima.

Hundreds of teachers under the banner of All Nagaland Adhoc Teacher’s Group (ANATG) 2015 batch hit the streets of the state capital today, demanding early solution to the long pending issue of regularising their services. It said the indefinite agitation will continue till the time their demands are fulfilled.

The aggrieved teachers as part of their peaceful democratic protest marched towards the Nagaland Civil Secretariat from NSF Solidarity Park to show their resentment.

It may be mentioned that the same batch of teachers had protested for almost a month demanding for regularisation of their service in the year 2018. However, the agitation was put on suspension following the appeasement policy of the state government by providing the 6th ROP to the Adhoc teachers. The teachers in 2018 had already made their stand clear that they would pursue for the regularisation of their services. And this time round, the teachers have made their demand loud and clear that they will not settle for anything less than the regularisation of their service.

The ANATG-2015 batch has said they will not settle for anything less than the regularisation of their service.

Addressing the media, ANATG-2015 batch spokesperson Bendang Ozukum stated that ANATG 2015 batch have rendered their continuous service for over 10 years and have now become overaged for any other government jobs.

The aggrieved 1,166 teachers have already appeared and cleared the departmental suitability test, completed the verification of documents and interview on 20 and 22 May 2017, and are now eligible for service regularisation. However, to their dismay the state government to this day is yet to declare the results of the suitability test.

It stated that the department and the government cited their inabilities to regularize the ANATG 2015 batch for various reasons. The main reason cited by the state government was the ongoing court case for which regularisation of their service is not possible. The ANATG stated that the redressal to the aggrieved matter solely lies at the disposal of the state government.

Meanwhile, the aggrieved teachers alleged that the same mode of appointment continues in various departments.

The ANATG 2015 batch have also stated that the state government have failed to respond to their numerous representations submitted to the state government and thus, they have come forward to stage a peaceful democratic protest demanding for their rights.

The state government is yet to declare the results of the suitability test taken by the ANATG-2015 batch.
