In celebration of World Environment Day, the Hospital Welfare Committee at District Hospital Kiphire organized an “On Spot Drawing & Painting Competition” under the theme “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.” The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental challenges and inspire the community, particularly the youth, to engage in conservation efforts.
The competition, held on the hospital premises, saw enthusiastic participation from students across various schools in Kiphire. Participants displayed their artistic talents, interpreting the theme with creativity and passion.
The winners of the competition were announced at a ceremony held at the hospital premises:
1st Place: Hosela V from Good Shepherd High School, who received a trophy and a cash prize of ₹5,000.
2nd Place: Apotan from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), awarded a trophy and ₹3,000.
3rd Place: Bizila from Saramati View Modern School, who took home a trophy and ₹2,000.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Tiakumzuk Sangtam, Medical Officer, congratulated and encouraged all the participants and winners. He emphasized the importance of being vigilant and protective of our surroundings and the environment at large. Dr. Sangtam’s address highlighted the need for continuous efforts towards environmental conservation and resilience against desertification and drought.
