NDPP allocates tickets in Mokokchung: Mokokchung Municipal Council leads with 17

The National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Mokokchung Region, conducted a ticket distribution ceremony on June 10 at the region office in Mokokchung for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) election in Nagaland. A total of 38 candidates were granted the party’s endorsement, with 17 tickets designated for the Mokokchung Municipal Council election, two for the Tuli Town Council, 11 for the Changtongya Town Council, and 8 for the Mangkolemba Town Council.

N Bendang Jamir, NDPP Mokokchung Region Election Committee Convener and Working President of NDPP Nagaland, stressed the importance of understanding the Nagaland Municipal Act and urged candidates to seek guidance for proper consultation, emphasizing the pioneering role of the candidates in its implementation.

Jamir inspired the candidates to dedicate themselves to serving the people, noting the potential extension of their tenure beyond 5 years based on performance, possibly lasting 10-15 years, and urged them to uphold the NDPP’s reputation through their actions.

Lanuakum, speaking on behalf of the candidates, expressed gratitude to the party and affirmed their readiness to serve, emphasizing the importance of unity and guidance from party leadership for success.

 

The event, chaired by Rongsen Lemtur, Vice President of the Mokokchung Region Office, included an oath-taking ceremony initiated by Mayangnungba, President of NDPP Mokokchung Region, who also handed over party tickets. The event concluded with remarks by Lipokzulu, Region Vice President.
