Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Zunheboto division organised a visual cleanliness programme today at Zunheboto under the Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) campaign. The

Programme was conducted in collaboration with Silver Queens Miss Sümi 2022 and the Green Club, Zunheboto.

Project ‘The Silver Vision’ with the theme ‘The Silver Vision for a Greener Progression’ was launched at the event by the three Silver Queens, who will also be its ambassadors. The focus of the initiative being on beautification, sanitation and recycling.

Hikali Achumi, the reigning Miss Sümi, 2022 said the Silver Queens envision a healthier environment for a prosperous tomorrow and hope that this can be achieved through ‘The Silver Vision’.

The Aims & objectives of project Silver Vision are:

  • To revive the natural beauty of Sümi land by adopting eco-friendly lifestyles like upcycling used goods
  • To create awareness in young minds about recycling and sanitation
  • To awaken a sense of responsibility and essence of environmental stewardship in the society
  • To incorporate practical means of recycling, sanitation and beautification for a long term
  • To provide employment opportunities through this project
  • To involve school and college students and public in the initiative by organising
  • Inter- school competitions
  • Mural paintings
  • Police point beautification
  • Flowerpot installation
  • Sanitation drive

The programme, held at Khonheche cafe, also included oath taking led by Hikali Achumi.

‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ is a 15-day initiative that requires community participation for clean-up drives and contribute to the goal of Clean India as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
