The Countdown Programme of International Day of Yoga 2024, was organised at Nagaland University’s Headquarters in Lumami on Wednesday in the Multipurpose Hall.
Dr. Abemo, the Registrar of Nagaland University, who officiated as the Chief Guest, emphasized how the practice of Yoga serves as a unifying force for the mind and body, promising a path to enduring health and vitality.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari, DDS, setting an atmosphere of warmth and inclusion for all attendees. The Yoga performance, meticulously following the prescribed Yoga Protocol, was expertly led by Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari himself, showcasing the grace and beauty of this ancient practice. Assisting in this endeavor was Dr. Kuldeep Singh Panwar, Head of the Department of Law, adding his expertise to the proceedings.
The diverse gathering included esteemed individuals such as Prof. MK Sinha, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Heads of Departments, dedicated faculty members, diligent officers, hardworking staff members, inquisitive research scholars, and enthusiastic students – all coming together to celebrate the essence of Yoga and its profound impact on holistic well-being.
The event was chaired by Dr. Ashutosh Tripathi, Assistant Professor in EVS, setting the tone for what was to be an enriching experience.
Peter Ki, PRO, Nagaland University, informed that the programme was a testament to the power of this ancient practice in fostering unity, well-being, and a deeper connection with oneself and others. Such an event not only showcases the physical benefits of Yoga but also highlights its ability to create a sense of harmony, community, and shared purpose among individuals from various backgrounds, the PRO added.
