Rengma Selo Zi urges Tseminyu citizens to uphold highest standards of integrity and honesty in upcoming ULB polls

Tseminyu: RSZ endorses resolutions of Rengma Hoho on conduct of ULB elections

The Rengma Selo Zi has reaffirmed its commitment to uphold highest standards of integrity and honesty in forthcoming Urban Local Body elections and has urged the citizens of Tseminyu too to adopt these principles that are essential for the advancement and betterment of the Rengma Society.

The RSZ has called on the people “to rise above divisions such as clanism, groupism, and regionalism” and stressed that it is imperative to elect leaders who are “capable, honest, and righteous, ensuring unity and harmony within our community.”

Further, it also encouraged the candidates to create a peaceful voting environment and to engage in “free and fair elections, discouraging any malpractices, booth capturing, or violence that could disrupt the voting process”.

RSZ has also appealed to the General Public, Ward GBs, and leaders of all colonies to set a positive example for future generations by ensuring to ensure peaceful elections in their areas

Furthermore, the Rengma Selo Zi has endorsed the resolutions adopted by the Rengma Hoho during the consultative meeting held on the 18th of June, 2024, at Riga Thong Memorial Hall, Rengma Hoho Office Building, Tseminyu that included that

  1. All candidates contesting in the upcoming ULB Election, 2024, will contest in a free and fair manner, upholding the highest standards of integrity and honesty.
  2. Candidates and their respective parties commit to participating in the ULB election in a conducive environment and will abstain from any form of malpractice or unfair means, including: Forceful collection of voter slips; Booth capturing; House-to-house visits for threatening and intimidating voters; Use of money power to purchase votes; Use of manpower to prevent voters from entering booths.
