The Longra Wedo Thangjam (Longra Students’ Union) held a Penalty Shootout at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground, Tuensang Town on 29th June 2024 in view of the 25th Imtisükum Memorial Trophy which is scheduled for next year in Longra Village under Tuensang District.

Lt. Imtisükum Memorial Trophy is organised annully in the loving memory of Lt. Imtisükum, Assistant Commandant, Village Guard, the first Shaurya Chakra recipient (1976) among the Chang. The Students’ Union organize the trophy annually to promote sportsman and nurture young talents since 2000.

The Penalty Shootout held on 29th June 2024 comprised of 26 teams from different village student bodies, individual clubs and organizations. The Trophy was lifted by the Longtang Wedoshi Thangjam and the 2nd position was secured by the Yimrup Students Union, Tuensang Town.

The organisers informed that the objective of the event was to promote interest and foster unity.

The inaugural program was chaired by Sipongmansa, Library Secretary (LWT), and Rev. H. Sangkap Pastor, TTBL, pronounced the invocation. The keynote address was delivered by Akhumla I. Chang, Vice President (LWT), followed by a kick-off. The gratitude speech was said by I. Olimsonen, Executive Secretary (LWT).

The prize distribution was honoured by Pangerlemba, President of Longra -Longsing Union, Tuensang Town while the benediction was pronounced by Hanchila, Press & Information Secretary (LWT).
