PDA Government committed to bring ‘White Revolution’ in the state: Advisor Kazheto Kinimi inaugurates Mini Dairy Plant in Mokokchung

A Mini Dairy Plant cum Dairy Farmers’ Training Centre was inaugurated today, July 12 at Marepkong Ward with Advisor, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Kazeheto Kinimi, as the Special Guest, informed a DIPR report.

The Centre has been set up under NPDD (National Programme for Dairy Development), and constructed under the initiatives of the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Nagaland State Dairy Co-operative Federation Ltd. Kohima.

The Advisor in his speech said, the PDA Government is committed to bring about a ‘White Revolution’ in the state through mass based organization/co-operative societies in line with the National Policy on Dairy Development. The small yet important step taken today would lead the way for greater development in the future as our state is yet to reach self sufficiency in Milk, Egg, Poultry, Livestock and Meat production, said Kinimi.

The Advisor also stressed on the potential of Dairy Farming in Nagaland which provide gainful employment to various sections of the society. He encouraged the people, especially the younger generation to venture into this sector saying that the Department on its part would do its best to guide and assist aspiring entrepreneurs in the sector.

Urging the Dairy Farmers in the District to support and co-operate with the Department,Kinimi reminded that the physical infrastructure is made by the Department but it can turn into an economic infrastructure only when both the Department and the Dairy Farmers work hand in hand.

A dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Associate Pastor, Marepkong Baptist Church, Takatoshi, Director, A.H & Vety. Services, Dr. Achila Ao chaired the progra’me, Managing Director, NSDCF Ltd. Dr. Joseph Angami delivered the keynote address and Secretary, MDCMPU Ltd. L. Yanger Lemtor delivered the vote of thanks.

During the Technical session, topics on Fertility Management of Dairy Cattle and Quality & Clean Milk Production were discussed by General Manager, MDP, Dr. Sanen Jamir and Project Director, NSDCF Ltd. Zapove Swuro.
