Kohima: Highway at Dzüdza and Old KMC dumping site worst affected

The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, has on Thursday issued a Travel Advisory for Kohima-Dimapur Road where he informed that National Highway 29 is hit by landslip/landslide caused by incessant rain which has affected vehicular traffic along the highway.

The DC notified that the highway at Dzüchie, Dzüdza (GREF Temple) and Kezanu, Jotsoma (Old KMC dumping site) are the worst affected.

Removal of debris and road repair work are underway, he said while advising the public to exercise caution while travelling through this route till completion of road restoration work.

On Thursday, a team including the DC, Additional SP Kohima, Revenue Officer Kohima, Executive Engineer Urban, Executive Engineer NPWD NH, Executive Engineer NPWD R&B, and other officials inspected and assessed the affected roads along NH 29 and took crucial decisions to facilitate the traffic flow and to prevent further damages to the road.
