As part of the 78th Indian Independence Day Home/Institution Visitation, members of the Kohima Press Club (KPC) visited the District TB Hospital Khuzama on August 15.
The hospital currently ’as 7 patients including one from Burma. During the visit, KPC members interacted briefly with the patients and also handed over several essential items. Giving a brief introduction, General Secretary of the Kohima Press Club, Vishü Rita Krocha remarked that while its members are occupied with their respective roles as journalists throughout the year, it is a privilege for the Press Club to participate in a humanitarian cause on the occasion of Independence Day. She recalled that KPC members visited the same institution in the year 2018 and further extended prayers and best wishes for health and recovery to the patients on behalf of KPC.

Senior Journalist & KPC Member, H. Chishi encouraged the patients by saying that TB was earlier viewed as a much dreaded disease but with advancement in medicine, this mindset has changed over the course of time. He urged them to take their medication on time and follow their doctors’ advice with discipline while wishing them the best.
Earlier, Medical Officer, Dr. Kekhrievor Suohu also gave a brief highlight of the institution.
