The Women and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of M.G.M College, Dimapur organized a “Self-Defense Class” for female students at the College Auditorium on 21st August 2024. The college informed that the event was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of empowering women through self-defense in today’s challenging society.
The Self-Defense Class was led by Krishna, a 2024 Nagaland Olympic Bronze Medalist and the 2024 Dimapur District Taekwondo Championship Gold Medalist, along with three other skilled instructors. The college said that the instructors demonstrated various effective techniques to help the students respond to vulnerable situations. Female students from all semesters actively participated, gaining hands-on experience in different self-defense techniques, it added.
Earlier, the session began with an invocation by Alovika, a 5th Semester student, followed by a warm welcome address from Loreni, the Convenor of the Women and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sangeeta, Member, Women and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell.
