Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome launched the Students’ Health Card today on the occasion of National Teachers’ Day at the State Level celebration in Kohima.
Speaking on the Students’ Health Card, the Advisor informed that it was formulated by the School Education Department in co-ordination with Health & Family Welfare Department to monitor and maintain students’ health and wellbeing. It will also serve as a comprehensive record of student’s health related information and to improve attendance, performance, public health impact and long term health awareness of the students, he informed.
Earlier in his speech, Dr Yhome said that one ought to express our gratitude to teachers for their dedication, guidance and support. A teacher’s wisdom and encouragement help us to grow, he said, adding that besides academic lessons, they impart life lessons and skills. Teachers teach us to be kind, helpful, honest and encourage us to dream big and work hard, the Advisor stated while urging students to take a moment to appreciate their teachers and promise to be good students.
“We honor their contributions to our education and recognise the vital role teachers played in shaping our lives and building a better future,” Dr Yhome expressed.
The State Level Teacher’s Day celebration held at the NBCC Convention Hall, Kohima began with the unfurling of the Teacher’s Day Flag by the Special Guest followed by presentation of the National Anthem by Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School. The welcome address was delivered by Principal Director School Education, Thavaseelan. K. A spaecial song was also presented by GMS T. Khel, Kohima Village.
The other highlights of the programme included greetings on Teacher’s Day was shared by Chairperson, Nagaland Board of School Education, Asano Sekhos; a special item was presented by Little Star Hr. Secondary School, Dimapur; A Note on Life Sketch of Late Dr. S, Radhakrishnan was performed by Perennial School, Wokha; Honouring of Teachers was done by Government High School, Meriema; A Tribute to Teachers by Rincho Academy, Sovima; a special number by Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima; a short video clip on National Teacher Awardee 2024 to Graduate Teacher, GHSS Dimapur, Lephizo Apon; presentation of State Level Teachers Day Award 2024; a presentation of Disaster Ready, Showcasing and Rewarding Safety Excellence by GHSS Jotsoma, Kohima and vote of thanks delivered by Additional Director, School Education, Razouseyi Vese.
