Nagaland Police seizes 9,583 bottles of liquor in 2 hours during state-wide surprise checking

Kohima: NP urges all citizens to participate in fight by giving information about any related illegal activity

The Nagaland Police conducted a state-wide surprise checking on all suspected place selling/storing illegal liquor on 21st September 2024 and seized a total of 9,583 bottles of liquor of various brands in just two hours. This was informed by the PRO, Nagaland Police, in a press release.

It was also informed that 30 persons were arrested under Section 44 (e) of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989, and 28 cases were registered in various police stations in the State during the two-hour drive against illegal liquor that involved all DEFs & NAP/IR Battalions of the State Police Department.

“It would be the endeavor of Nagaland Police to fully implement the NLTP Act and the actions against selling/storing of illegal liquor would continue in future too,” the Department stated. It also stressed that the fight against illegal liquor can be successful only with the cooperation of the public and therefore urged all citizens to participate by giving information to the concerned SPs of the respective jurisdiction or to the Police headquarters about any related illegal activity taking place.
