S Supongmeren Jamir, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) vice president, and Lima Lemtur, president of Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) today joined Rahul Gandhi and Congress party followers on the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Jamir presented Gandhi with a woven Ao waistcoat with traditional motifs on it which the leader donned on the road.
Supongmeren and Lima Lemtur will take part in the walk for two days. They reached the location of the yatra along with Dr. Ajoy Kumar, AICC Incharge of Sikkim, Tripura and Nagaland, Ranajit Mukherjee, National Secretary AICC and Szarita Laitphlang, National Secretary AICC and In-charge AIPC East and other leaders from the north east and West Bengal.
Bharat Jodo Yatra is now in Chitradurga, Karnataka and a distance of 925 kms has been covered. The initiative plans to cover a distance of nearly 3,500 Km over the course of about 150 days.
The yatris began the day’s journey from Challakere Town and stopped at Giriyammanahally Village for a midday break from the heat.
