A meeting regarding the publication of the Integrated Draft Electoral Roll for the Special Summary Revision was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohima on 29th October 2024. The revision is in respect to the qualifying date of 1stJanuary 2025.
Assistant Electoral Officer, Chisho K Swu, opened the meeting with a welcome address. During the session, Rhosietho Nguori, NCS Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Electoral Registration Officer, Kohima distributed copies of the draft electoral roll to representatives of recognized political parties and to Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) in attendance.
The ADC highlighted the importance of a clean electoral process, underscoring that as citizens value fair elections, equal importance must be placed on maintaining an accurate and up-to-date electoral roll. He urged all parties to carefully review the draft roll and make any necessary corrections to ensure the integrity of the electoral roll.
Following the meeting, the Notice of Publication of Electoral Roll in Draft was issued to the Electors of the 8-Western Angami, 9-Kohima Town, 10-Northern Angami-I, 11-Northern Angami-II, 14-Southern Angami-I, and 15-Southern Angami-II Assembly Constituencies.
Notice is hereby given that the electoral roll has been prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, and a copy thereof is available for inspection at the ADC & Electoral Registration Officer’s office and at polling stations during office hours. The qualifying date for the preparation of the electoral roll is 1st January 2025.
If there is any claim for inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of any name or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodged on or before 28th November 2024 (Thursday) in Form 6, 7, or 8, as may be appropriate. Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the ADC & Electoral Registration Officer’s office or to the Booth Level Officer or sent by post to the address given below so as to reach on or before the aforesaid date.
An eligible citizen who is going to attain the age of eighteen years on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in the year 2025, that is to say, 1st April 2025, 1st July 2025, or 1st October 2025, may also file his or her claim for inclusion of his or her name in the roll in Form-6 in advance starting from the date of notice and the same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date.
KIPHIRE
A meeting chaired by ADC Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam, NCS was convened to discuss on the draft photo electoral rolls for 59thSeyochung – Sitimi& Pungro – Kiphire Assembly Constituencies in connection with Special Summary Revision of photo electoral rolls x, was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kiphire on 29th October 2024.
Deputy commissioner, Kiphire, TemsuwatiLongkumer, NCS, ADC Kiphire Longdiba L Sangtam NCS, ADC Pungro, YithachuThur, NCS, EAC KiusamWetshoLashushe, NCS, ERO and AEROs of 59 and 60 ACs and representatives from all political parties attended the programme.

DIMAPUR
The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, has announced the Special Summary Revision of the Photo Electoral Roll for 2025, using 1st January 2025, as the qualifying date. The announcement was made during a release event at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Dimapur on 29th October, 2024.
Chang highlighted scheduled special campaign dates for November 8 and 9 (Friday and Saturday) and 22nd and 23rd November (Friday and Saturday) across Dimapur. He said that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be available at designated polling stations on these dates to assist citizens in enrolling and addressing any questions regarding the revision process.
Chang encouraged all eligible residents to take advantage of these campaign dates to ensure that their names are included in the updated electoral roll. He also requested that political parties and community leaders promote awareness of these campaign dates within their areas, noting that the Election Office is fully prepared to assist and that BLO contact information is available on the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) portal.
The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Office, Dimapur, announced the release of the Draft Photo Electoral Roll for the 2025 electoral cycle, with 1st January 2025, as the qualifying date. The publication event took place in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on 29th October, 2024, and was attended by representatives from various political parties and local leaders.
Assistant Election Officer Toshimongba Longchar provided key statistics during the event. He reported that Dimapur’s three Assembly constituencies — Dimapur-I, Dimapur-II, and Dimapur-III — saw 2,969 new inclusions and 1,217 deletions in the current draft roll compared to the previous version. This update marks an increase of 1.45% in the electoral count. The number of electors as of March stood at 120,749, while the current draft roll, effective from 1st January2024, includes 122,501 electors.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, who chaired the program, highlighted the schedule for claims and objections. He said citizens can file claims and objections from 29thOctober 2024 (Tuesday) to 28thNovember 2024 (Thursday). The final electoral roll is slated for release on 10thJanuary 2025.
Chang further explained that the enrolment qualifying dates occur quarterly: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 and Special enrolment campaign drives are scheduled at polling stations on 8th-9thNovember and 22nd – 23rdNovember 2024, to facilitate voter registration. He said that the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will oversee these campaigns at designated polling stations across the constituencies.
Chang urged political parties, local heads, and colony chairpersons to spread awareness of the enrolment campaign dates within their respective communities. He also encouraged political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents to identify and assist eligible citizens in enrolling, assuring them of full support from the Election Office. He said that the office is available for assistance and to approach them without any hesitation. He further informed that the list of BLOs is accessible on the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) portal. Copies of the draft electoral roll were distributed to the attendees.
The program was attended by representatives of registered political parties.
LONGLENG
The draft electoral of 49 Tamlu A/C and 50 Longleng, A/C for 2025 was released on 29th October 2024 by DEO and Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom. In his introductory remarks he said that the draft roll was published on 29th October 2024 as directed by the Election commission of India.
The DC said that any eligible citizen who is going to attain the age of 18 years on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in the year 2025 may file his or her claim for inclusion of his or her name in the roll in advance starting from the date of notice and the same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date.
Representatives from different political parties attended the meeting and a copy of draft electoral roll was handed to all the parties at DC conference hall on 29th October 2024.
