MLA Lamthiu inaugurates construction projects of 3 departments at Kingniu village

Noklak: Bridge construction between Kingniu and Panso to begin soon, MLA Lamthiu announces

MLA and DPDB Chairman of Noklak, Benei M Lamthiu, inaugurated new construction projects for three important departments in Kingniu village on 8th November 2024. The new constructions included the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Main Reservoir Water Tank, Government Primary School (GPS) Two Room Construction, and the Village Guard (VG) Barrack. The event was organized by the Kingniu Village Council.

In his remarks, Lamthiu praised the unity of the Kingniu community, highlighting that the inauguration reflects their collective effort. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the developmental projects, noting that such opportunities are rare. Lamthiu also encouraged the community to focus on increasing student enrolment in the newly built government school, which will now keep children in the village rather than sending them elsewhere for education.

He further announced that a major project which is a bridge between Kingniu and Panso will be undertaken soon.

Ngon, the Area Education Officer, commended the community’s cooperation in making these developments possible. He stressed the importance of enrolling students in the government school to strengthen its student base and called for the implementation of quality educational standards to support further development.

Puchong, Surveyor for the PHED in Noklak, provided an update on the status of the JJM in Kingniu. He shared that the project was completed in the 2022-2023 year, with 100% of the physical work completed. He urged the community to take responsibility for maintaining the water reservoir and ensuring that it remains free from contamination, particularly by keeping animals away from the water source.

Nokchem L., Assistant Commandant of NVG Noklak, spoke about the importance of the newly constructed VG Barrack, calling it a blessing for the village. He emphasized the vital role of the Village Guards in maintaining law and order in remote areas and how their uniforms symbolize their responsibility to provide security for the public.

Chauhan, Officer in Charge of Assam Rifles appreciated the collective efforts done by the three departments in taking the village to a higher level.

As part of the event, special appearance was presented by Kingniu Cultural Troupe (Men & Women)

The program was chaired by C. Lusang, Village Council Chairman, with the invocation prayer led by P. Chillio, Pastor of KBC, and a welcome address by S. Pengchiang, VDB Secretary. The program included a special number by KBYE, I/c L. Khaoshai, and concluded with a benediction by S. Chellio, Youth Pastor.
