The Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong & Noney(KIJTN) has endorsed the 24 hours total shutdown called by the Kuki-Zo Council in every Kuki -Zo inhibited areas following the killings of its members.
In a press communique, the KIJTN expressed resentment over the death of 11 of its Hmar village volunteers who were killed in “cold blooded murder by Combine Forces of Manipur Police Commandos and CRPF personnel”.
The KIJTN also claimed that on November 7, a young mother of 3, Zosangkim was brutally raped and mur- dered in her house and also burned beyond recognition along with 17 houses of Zairon Village by Meetei militants and Arambai Tenggol amidst the presence of CPRF in the village.
“Learning the presence of the perpetrators of Zairon incident at Jakuradhor Police Station, shielded by Manipur Police commandos and CRPF, Hmar Village volunteers asked CRPF personnel that Meetei militants should be handed over to them and tell them that they didn’t mean any harm to any Central Security Forces. After successfully engaging in talks with CRPF personnel, the village volunteers were fired indiscriminately while they were relaxing leading to the lost of many lives,” stated the KIJTN.

It demanded the CRPF to own moral responsibility for not protecting Zosangkim Hmar and Zairon village, and also be held accountable for the muder of village volunteers.
The Kuki Inpi has also demanded a proper and thorough investigation in this regard by a central investigating agency. It also called for the immediate withdrawal of CRPF from every Kuki-Zo Villages of Jiribam “as their presence now brings sense of insecurity to the villagers”.
