The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will be commemorating the National Press Day under the theme, “Changing Nature of Press” on November 16, at Hotel Japfü, Kohima.
The National Press Day is celebrated to honor the freedom of the press and journalistic ethics. The day also marks the establishment of the Press Council of India (PCI) on November 16, 1966 as an autonomous quasi judicial body to uphold and preserve standards of journalism and freedom of the press.
In Kohima, the National Press Day will be held with Prof. G.T. Thong, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University Kohima Campus, Meriema as the Guest Speaker.

Chaired by Vishü Rita Krocha, General Secretary of KPC, the event will begin with a prayer by Reyivolü Rhakho, Member, Kohima Press Club. The event will also present the KPC-NBOCWWB certificates for KPC-NBOCWWB Media Fellows while an experience on the fellowship will also be shared.
Remarks on the KPC-NBOCWWB media fellowship will be delivered by Er. Vikeheto Naki, Deputy CEO, NBOCWWB while the closing remarks will be presented by H. Chishi, Senior Journalist & Member, KPC.
