Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan visited Kiphire and held a meeting with the Heads of Departments and Civil Societies Organisations of Kiphire District at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall Kiphire on 19th November 2024.
In his speech, Governor said that he was happy to visit Kiphire District, terming it as a vibrant and promising district and appreciated the richness of its culture and people of Kiphire District. He also highlighted the Pradhen Mantri TB Muk Bharat Abhiyan endeavours to eliminate TB by 2025, five years ahead of the global target and urged the health care authority to enhance awareness on the PMEGP TB Muk Bharat Abhiyan. He also spoke on JJM, CMHIS and Ayush Maan Bharat.
Speaking on the road construction work in the district, La Ganesan said that the ongoing construction works under state PWD and NHIDCL is in progress and assured that it will be completed soon as the government is also giving its best efforts. He also stated that connectivity is the life line of progress, be it trade, commerce, pathways to education. He urged the leaders, educators to renew their commitments and invigorate our institutions, inspire students and invest in the future of the district through education.
The Governor also spoke on problems of drugs abuse, and urged the civil societies and the law enforcement agencies to eliminate the inflow of drugs in the district. He appealed the local communities and the civil societies to work hand in hand with the government, both at the centre and the state for sustainable and progressive development.

A memorandum was submitted to the Governor, by the President Akehta Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang (United Sangtam Women Organisation), appealing to the government for one Gynaecologist Doctor at Kiphire District Hospital to avoid hardship faced by the women community.
Earlier, the Governor was received by the officials of Kiphire District at the helipad and he was accorded the guard of honour. The Governor was facilitated by Civil Societies & Organisation at DC Conference Hall Kiphire. Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer NCS chaired the program. Departmental presentations were given by Executive Engineer, PHED, Project Director DRDA and Chief Medical Officer, Health & Family Welfare, Kiphire.
The Governor also had an interaction with heads of government offices and civil societies, followed by security co – ordination meeting and concluded with a vote of thanks by ADC Longdiba L Sangtam NCS Kiphire.
