IDAN invites applications for Heritage interpreters ar Hornbill venues

As Nagaland prepares to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Hornbill Festival from December 1 to 10, 2024, at Kisama Heritage Village, the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) seeks enthusiastic individuals to serve as Heritage Interpreters. This initiative aims to enrich the festival experience for visitors by providing insightful narratives about Nagaland’s diverse tribes, cultural motifs, folklore, and traditions.

Opportunity & Duration: Slots for 150 Heritage Interpreters, for a duration of 10 Days in 8 hour shifts per day.

Honorarium: A modest daily honorarium complemented by performance-based incentives, reflecting individual expertise and contributions.

Selection Criteria: Successful completion of free of cost physical Capacity Building Training Scheduled on 23rd Nov 2024.

Responsibilities: Lead informative tours at Kisama Heritage Village, War Memorial, and the State Museum, Articulate the significance of various tribal customs, motifs, songs, and folklore, Engage with tourists to enhance their understanding of Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage.

Eligibility Criteria: Proficiency in English, Knowledge of Hindi or any foreign language is advantageous, Background in History or a demonstrated interest in Nagaland’s history and culture is advantageous but not mandatory, Excellent communication skill or story telling skills or oratory skills, Recent graduates or current college students of any stream or persons with skill in foreign languages or Graduates/Students of Tourism and Culture or existing tour guides are encouraged to apply.
