SKK felicitates Sumis who cleared competitive exams; Kikheto Sema urges new recruits to be sincere

Chumoukedima: Sema advocates equality of all ranks and files in service irrespective of position

Sümi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) organised a felicitation program of Sümis who successfully cleared the competitive examinations at Western Hoho Ki, Chekiye Village, Chumoukedima, on 23rd November 2024. Exhorting the gathering on the occasion, Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Law & Justice, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, congratulated the successful candidates and reminded them that it is just the beginning of their new life and to accept the ups and down journey in their career ahead.

Kikheto shared his experience on how he joined the service at an early age and during his 37 years’ service as an officer, was posted almost in 10 different departments having worked with many senior and efficient officers. He stated that his peers often tag him as workaholic but while admitting to the adage, “to err is human” he never claimed to be a perfect officer. He however said that he was proud to mention some contributing for the welfare and well-being of our society.

Citing few achievements, Sema said he was instrumental in identifying bogus GPF and Pension, pioneered the Communitization of Public Institutions, was an officer assisted during the visit of the 11th 12th & 13th Finance Commission (F.C) and in-charge during the 14th & 15th F.C and also a core member of 16th F.C recently, adding that he was also instrumental in initiating the PIMS for the government employees, revival, promotion & export of Nagaland Coffee, promotion of organic products under Naturally Nagaland & Organic A.C Market, Air Cargo and Convenor of CM Micro Finance Initiative.

He also highlighted his contribution as a core member, frontline leader during Covid-19 pandemic, core member for introducing of CMHIS, 10 Bedded ICU, Medical College, introduction of Royalty of Timbers & Betel nuts passing through the state which are not originated from the state etc. He expressed his appreciation towards the State Government which awarded him two times Governor’s commendation in recognition for his contributions to the people.

Sema advised that irrespective of one’s profession, one should be sincere in discharging the duty assigned. He advocated the belief for equality of all the ranks and files irrespective of position and added that one should contribute, perform and deliver sincerely. He urged the newly recruits to be sincere and reminded them that the government is instituted by God and one must respect, honour and obey it.

Gihuka K Zhimo President, SKK gave Presidential speech, while Vinoh Swu Assumi, EAC spoke on behalf of the successful candidate and Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema, Executive Secretary, WSBAK invoked God’s blessing.
