State level competition on indigenous practices held in Kohima

A State Level competition on various Naga indigeneous practises was held as part of the Hornbill Festival on December 6 at NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima.

The event saw the participation of various tribal communities in Chicken Coop Making Competition, Catapult Target Competition, Go-Kart Race Competition, and Rice Husking Competition.

The event celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and the IEC Campaign for the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) during the Hornbill Fest. It was organized by the Tribal Research Institute Kohima, Department of Tribal Affairs, and funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.

Rice husking competition :

Konyak -Ngapkhao and Ayo

Phom- A Soyaü Phom and Hantenhaila Phom

Kuki- Mengsi and Lalam Lenthang

Chicken coop:

Sangtam tribe  -Yanhkhumse
