The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board meeting for the month of December cum Advent Christmas program was held at DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung on 11th December 2024.
The DPDB meeting was chaired by Chairman DPDB and Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, and was attended by MLA & Advisor for Sericulture and Minority Affairs, Imkongmar.
While reviewing the last meeting minute, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Thsuvisie phoji informed the house about the visit of Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India, Bandi Sanjay Kumar to the district on the 19th November 2024 and shared about the 2nd Cherry blossom Festival held at Longkhum village where various depts took active part, and also spoke about the prospect of Eco-tourism in the district.
In this regard, the chairman remarked that as tourism comprises diverse sectors therefore a collective effort is needed to come up with new ideas so that visitors can experience the unique identity of the district.
On the agenda for black topping of diversion road at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, the chairman assured to take up the issue at the earliest.
Sharingain Longkumer also informed the house on the collective achievement of all the stakeholders with regard to construction of ongoing new infrastructure at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital and the improvement of road connectivity along the NH 02. He also cautioned all the line departments to provide proper services to the public during the festive seasons.
Taking up the agendas for the meeting, the house approved and forwarded the registration of Environment and Economic Society, Kelingmen village, Mokokchung to the concerned authority.
Later, the Advent Christmas programme was chaired by Er. Lanusenla, Principal ICIT, Mokokchung
During the programme, a Christmas message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Tekatemjen. Prisident, NEALEAST. Christmas greetings were shared by Advisor for Sericulture & Minority Affairs Imkongmar and Chairman DPDB and Speaker NLA, Sharingain Longkumer. A special song” My grownup Christmas list” was presented by Chubala Longchar and friends, while the invocation prayer was pronounced by Dr. Wati Imchen, Principal FAC. Exchange of Christmas gifts among the Board members was initiated by Vitolou Chisi, EAC, Mokokchung.
