State Level PM SHRI Schools debate competition conducted under topic Viksit Bharat and its contours

The State Level PM SHRI Schools Debate Competition was organised by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland under the PM SHRI (Prime Minister’s Schools for Rising India) Scheme under the topic Viksit Bharat and its Contours.

Students of PM SHRI GHS and GHSS from Eight (8) Districts across Nagaland participated in the competition, informed a press release Media and Communications Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.

K. Yanon Konyak, Sr Lecturer, SCERT Nagaland chaired the formal event and welcomed all the participants and acknowledged the efforts of teacher escorts in supporting the students’ participation.

Dr. Kevizakie Rio, JMD Samagra Shiksha & State Nodal Officer PM SHRI Nagaland delivered the Keynote address and provided an overview of the importance of the competition. He highlighted how under the Scheme, schools were established across the country as PM SHRI Schools to showcase the implementation of NEP 2020 and emerge as exemplary schools over a period and how it aims to create and nurture holistic and well-rounded individuals equipped with key 21st century skills. He further challenged the students and teachers to strive towards making each PM SHRI School in Nagaland an exemplary School.

Dr. Bijano Murry, Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, served as the moderator, while Moalong Imty, Joint Director, SCERT and Visetonuo Angami, Assistant Director, DoSE were members of the jury for the competition.

The competition witnessed the participants speaking on the topic for both motions where Chichanbeni Odyuo from PM SHRI GHS Wokha Village of Wokha District and Pairamlungle from PM SHRI GHSS Jalukie Town of Peren District were adjudged as the First and Second Position Winners respectively of the State PM SHRI Schools Debate Competition 2024.
