The Government of India has released tax devolution of ₹1,73,030 crore to State Governments, including ₹984.54 crore to Nagaland, on 10 January 2025. The devolution amount for December 2024 was ₹89,086 crore.
The Ministry of Finance stated that a higher amount is being devolved in January 2025 to enable states to accelerate capital spending and finance their development and welfare-related expenditures.
Of the States, Uttar Pradesh received the highest amount at ₹31039.84 crore, followed by Bihar at ₹17403.36 crore. Goa will receive the least amount at ₹667.91crore, while Sikkim received ₹671.35 crore.
