Paris Paralympic Games 2024 bronze medallist from Nagaland, H. Hokato Sema today received the Arjuna Award in the Para Athletics category from President Droupadi Murmu in a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday.
The Arjuna Award, the second-highest sporting honour of India, is given for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games over a period of the previous four years and for showing qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and a sense of discipline.
H. Hokato Sema had won bronze for India in Shot-Put in the F57 category at the Paris Paralympics.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has congratulated the Sema on receiving the prestigious award. “His dedication and achievements have inspired countless aspiring athletes”, the CM said in a post on X platform.

At today’s Sports and Adventure Awards 2024 function, President Murmu presented Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Awards-2024 to four athletes; Dronacharya Awards-2024 to five coaches; Arjuna Awards-2024 to 32 athletes; Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards-2023 to four individuals for excelling in adventure sports; Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar-2024 to Physical Education Foundation of India; and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy-2024 to Chandigarh University, Punjab.
