A four-day awareness program, aimed at promoting safe disposal of plastics and PET bottles while encouraging sustainable practices, concluded successfully on January 19, 2025. The campaign was organized by PET Packaging Association for Clean Environment (PACE), Lakshya, and Eco-Warriors Nagaland, with the support of the Dimapur Municipal Council and the Pollution Control Board.
The program featured a series of interactive activities over four days:
January 16 – Signature Campaign at Hongkong Market:
The campaign kicked off with a signature drive at the bustling Hongkong Market, where residents pledged their commitment to reducing plastic waste and adopting sustainable practices. The event drew a large crowd, spreading awareness about the environmental impact of improper plastic disposal.
January 17 – Vehicle Sticker Pasting and Sensitization Program for Auto Drivers:
On the second day, stickers with eco-friendly messages were pasted on vehicles, reminding commuters of the importance of responsible waste management. A sensitization program for auto drivers was also conducted at the Dhobinala Auto Stand, emphasizing their role in reducing plastic waste and encouraging passengers to dispose of plastics responsibly.

January 18 – Cleanliness Drive:
Day three witnessed a large-scale cleanliness drive from the Dhobinala area to First Complex. Volunteers, community members, and officials came together to clean public spaces, collect plastic waste, and ensure its proper disposal. The drive aimed to inspire citizens to maintain a clean and sustainable environment while highlighting the importance of collective efforts in keeping Dimapur clean.
January 19 – Signature Campaign at City Town Area:
The campaign concluded with another signature drive at the City Town area. Participants reiterated their commitment to adopting eco-friendly practices, making it clear that Dimapur residents are ready to take collective action for a cleaner and greener future.

The primary goal of this program was to educate the public on the importance of adopting sustainable practices and ensuring the safe disposal of plastics and PET bottles. By promoting recycling as a viable solution, the campaign aimed to reduce the environmental burden caused by plastic waste and encourage a shift towards eco-friendly behaviors.
