Employment linked career guidance on Aviation and Hospitality and Cruise line sector held at Phek Government College

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell, Phek Government College organised an employment linked career guidance programme on Aviation and Hospitality and Cruise line sector in India and Overseas on February 12, 2025 in the college Campus.

This programme was in collaboration with the Eagle Crest Training Academy and Consultancy, Dimapur, with Imsumeren (Hospitality Trainer cum Business Development Executive) as the resource person. He spoke briefly on ECTAC, which is a training and consultancy institute, registered under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skills Development Corporation, Skill India Institutional, Government of India for Aviation, Hospitality and Cruise line Sector.

A warm welcome note was given by Dr. T Tiakaba Jamir, Principal of Phek Government College. He elucidated on the importance of organising such events sensitizing the students of the plethora of opportunities. Imsumeren engaged the audience with a dynamic session and gave an elaborate and comprehensive detail on Aviation, Hospitality and Cruise line Sector. Further, highlighting on the eligibility criteria, training process, placement opportunities, campus recruitment, salary package, and Skill Loan Scheme that can be availed by the students.

Skill Loan Scheme is an initiative of the ECTAC in collaboration with IDAN, Government of India. He emphasised on the cordial, warm and accommodating nature of the citizens residing in North- East India, with steadfast learning abilities that are added advantages in this sector.

A Q&A session was held with regards to the course duration, fee structure and placements. He further added that trainees only fail to get placements because they refuse to sit for interviews or give up on applying, that hinders their further development and career.

ECTAC and Phek Government College signed an MoU for 5 years which will help foster future collaborations under which, ECTAC will help train students of the college with internship opportunities. While the college would offer help in inviting applications along with student data for screening. The programme met with great and fruitful success.
