Break-in at ECHS Polyclinic Kohima

A break-in was attempted with the probable motive of burglary at the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic, Kohima, the PRO of Ministry of Defence, Kohima, Imphal & Rest of Arunachal Pradesh has said in a press release.

The incident reportedly took place on the intervening night of 10 and11 March 2025 at the medical facility for the Ex-servicemen which is located at Officers Hill. The PRO stated that when the clinic was opened on Tuesday morning, it was discovered that the rear window of the dental section had been forcibly broken. Further, two sets of footprints were observed on the dental stool and the dental chair, suggesting more than one individual had forcibly entered the premises with malicious intent.

FIR has been registered with the South Police Station and investigation is underway, the press release stated.

The PRO highlighted that the polyclinic plays a crucial role in providing frontline medical care to the veterans of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Assam Rifles of Kohima and adjoining areas and added that such an act of robbery or vandalism at such a critical healthcare facility poses a severe risk of disrupting essential healthcare services for those who have selflessly served our nation.
