Longchar in his speech acknowledged the visionary leaders who had instituted the Excellency Award and noted that this initiative would upgrade to a higher status by welcoming innovative thriving sources.
He encouraged the youths to possess good interrelationship skills noting that the youths of today lack social and communication skills. He said that these skills are an important feature in NEP 2020 which largely focuses on skill development.
Longchar also brought up the battle of examination which one would come across while striving for excellence and reminded the youths to be diligent in their work and to maintain discipline.
Speaking on the influence of foreign culture, he encouraged the youths to discover their skills and talents and also incorporate the various qualities of foreign culture to mould their talents into a mark of excellence.
Today in this technological world with the influence of globalisation, the biggest issue faced by youths is depression which has its root in “unlimited usage”, Longchar pointed out.
He cautioned the youths in attendance to utilize media platforms wisely.
Longchar concluded his speech by saying that in this world of advancement, one needs to be the specialist of ones’ field and to be meticulous in whatever work one does. Integrating skills and knowledge by reforming all the good qualities one possesses to excel is an attitude, he added.
B Aoluin Aier, President SSUM, in his welcome address said the Excellency Award is being presented to the HSLC and HSSLC students for their achievements in the academic field to generate new enthusiasm among the students.
He encouraged the students to give thanks to their parents and teachers who have played an important role in guiding and moulding them to achieve their goals. He also encouraged the students to build up a competitive spirit in this advanced and competitive world.
Watizulu Aier, President SSS (M), delivered the word of encouragement in which he lauded the organising committee for successfully creating a great platform through which students can be encouraged to strive for excellence.
“When we understand how our lives are influenced by our forefathers, we should appreciate the good deeds that [have] been passed down through our families with blessings and be wise and honest,” he stated.
Aier told the award recipients that the excellence they have received in their studies is not the end but the beginning of their journey to think, aim and work towards achieving their goals in life.
