New Market FC and Shillong Lajong FC will face each other at the semi-finals on Sunday evening at 6:30pm.

The two teams were the winners of the quarter-final matches played on Saturday at the ongoing 22nd NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium.

New Market FC vs Red Scars FC

In the 3rd quarter-final match, New Market FC booked a spot in the semi-finals through a 3-1 win over Red Scars FC.

The first goal in favour of New Market FC – also the fastest goal of the tournament – was netted by Petevizo Kezio (jersey no 7) in the 48th second.

The equaliser came from the boots of Elminhao Kilong (jersey no 13) in the 15th minute. New Market took the lead again in the 35th minute with a goal by Yhunshalo Kemp (jersey no 9).

In the 87th minute, Rhitso Mero netted the third goal for New Market FC.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Sanyem Salem.  The award was handed by Neikeso Zumu, Class 1 Contractor.

Shillong Lajong FC vs Unity FC, Meriema

In the 4th quarter-final match, Shillong Lajong FC triumphed over Unity FC, Meriema 9-0.

Chanmitre (jersey no 9) opened the score for Shillong Lajong in the 18th minute.

Yohan (jersey no 21), Kladajied (jersey no 11), Aman (jersey no 4), Samuel (jersey no 25), Ioanis (jersey no 17) and Everbright Son (jersey no 20) netted a goal each in the 27th, 34th, 41st, 45th, 53rd and 67th minute.

Henry Ford (jersey no 3) added two more goals for his team in the 82nd and 90th minute.

Shillong Lajong FC progressed to semi-finals and will be facing New Market FC on Sunday.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Aman Ahlawat. The award was presented by Neibalie Rio, Special Officer to CM.
