The Goodwill School, Mon celebrated its 2nd Annual Literary Day on March 28 and 29, 2025, under the theme, “Learn Today, Impact Tomorrow”, bringing together students, staff, and parents for a vibrant showcase of talent and creativity. The event, held on the school campus, featured a variety of competitions spanning multiple categories, emphasizing the importance of literary arts in education.
The festivities kicked off on March 28 with a series of painting competitions for Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Upper Kindergarten (UKG) students, alongside drawing and essay contests for classes 1 to 4. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by the young artists and writers set a positive tone for the following day’s events.
Day two of the Literary Day was chaired by Yumah, who led a program filled with engaging activities, including poem recitation, prepared speeches, quiz, debates, solo performances, group songs, group dances, and a fancy dress contest. The program opened with Bible reading and an invocation led by Ngipyin, followed by the school anthem sung passionately by all attendees.
In her keynote address, Monyu K emphasized the significance of literary skills in broadening students’ horizons and fostering critical thinking. This message resonated well, particularly during the debate competition, where students tackled the topic “Advantages and Disadvantages of Mobile Phones.” Competitors demonstrated remarkable skills in articulating their thoughts and defending their positions.

The panel of judges for the competitions on March 28 included esteemed personalities such as Chingkap Konyak, Anthony, Ajung, Anon, Pongthron, Phoya, Monyu K, and Apham. The following day’s judges comprised Kingchai Konyak director, Wangchat Konyak Assistant Headmaster, Nahtei Konyak Headmaster, and Puspa, all of whom provided valuable feedback and encouragement to the participants.
The event also featured the distribution of prizes for the 2nd Annual Sports Meet, held on March 26 and 27, 2025. These awards were presented during the literary program by Wangchat Konyak, Assistant Headmaster, and Kaiba W, Proprietor. The prizes for the literary competitions will be distributed at the annual day program, as noted by the chairperson, Yumah.
The event concluded with heartfelt expression of gratitude, as Chingkap Konyak delivered the vote of thanks, recognizing the efforts of all participants, organizers, and supporters. The gathering wrapped up with a mass prayer, reinforcing the community spirit that Goodwill School strives to cultivate.
