Sacred Heart Church, Khuzama celebrated its Golden Jubilee on April 26 and 27 under the theme, “Be Strong and Let Your Heart Take Courage” Psalm 31. The Speaker L. Kenneth Punyü. Advisor Angami Catholic Union, on the first day began his talk with a tribute to Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church who return to his heavenly abode recently. The speaker stressed on the need to live the Christian virtues of faith, courage and the will to move ahead knowing and living the truth as a Christian.
Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima was the main Celebrant and Rev. Fr. Valerian Castelino SJ, Regional Superior, Kohima Jesuits as the Guest of Honour along with a host of priests and religious. The Bishop, called upon the faithful to know the true marks of the Church which are One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.

He also invited the faithful to rededicate themselves to bring about renewal and resurgence of faith and mission both individually and as a community. As Christians, we are called to be instruments of God’s mercy bringing healing and hope to others building the real and living Church, the temple of Holy Spirit.
The Bishop also administered the Sacrament of First Holy Communion to the children and the Sacrament of Confirmation on this 50th Jubilee of the Catholic Community, Khuzama.
