The Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kohima, Neimenuo has informed that as required under Sub-Section (1) (2) and (3) of Section 36 of the Nagaland Shops & Establishment Act, 1986, all owners and employers of those Shops, Commercial Establishments except those exempted by the Act, are hereby informed to get registered/ renew their Establishments in the Assistant Labour Commissioner’s Office, Kohima District below New Secretariat Complex on or before 31st May 2025.

The Commissioner has also informed that if any employer carries on business without a valid Registration Certificate after 31st May 2025, he/she shall be liable to pay penalty equal to the fee prescribed for registration or renewal of registration, as the case maybe, plus an additional penalty at Rupees two per day of continued default as per Sub-Section (6) of Section 36 of the Nagaland Shops & Establishment Act, 1986. The certificate or the renewal certificate as the case maybe, shall be kept prominently displayed at some conspicuous place of the establishment as prescribed under Sub-Section 5 of Section 36 of the Act.
