Governor Mukhi in his brief address stated that Kendriya Vidyalaya has emerged as one of the prestigious schools in the town. He highlighted that the school was established in the year 1999 and has now upgraded to class ten and blossomed into a premier institution imparting quality education to students.

He stated that an institution must contribute towards empowering the community, and that it was heartening to learn about the vision of the school which is to cater to the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a common programme on education, while also initiating and promoting experimentation and innovativeness in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training among others.

‘”Our objective about education is to excel as duty-conscious and decent citizens of India, keeping our Motherland in mind and the feeling of Nationalism up-front and to strive and contribute to the growth and development of our nation,” he added.

After the programme, teachers and students had a short interaction with the Governor.

He also reminded that as people all over the country celebrated the 75 Anniversary of India’s Independence, we should be proud of our freedom and that now is the time to reflect on our achievements with pride and hope, knowing that despite the various challenges, setbacks and despair, the combined efforts of dedicated and selfless sacrifices of our brave countrymen and women, have laid the foundation on which we can build a brighter future for our country.

Mukhi also encouraged the students to dream big in life and work hard to achieve the goal as there are no shortcuts to success and to take guidance of parents and teachers in deciding the choices of their careers and develop the practice of building a strong will power.

He also urged the teachers, to give their utmost best, for the growth and welfare of the school and most importantly for nurturing, moulding and upbringing of students, in spite of several shortcomings in terms of infrastructure, communication etc.

Mukhi also highlighted the significant aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 which is a progressive and future oriented initiative and addresses critical issues such as equitable access to Higher Education, bridging the gap between current and desirable learning outcomes with more impetus on cognitive skills, social and emotional skills.

He also mentioned that, more than the degree, it is the knowledge that gives immense intellectual satisfaction therefore it is the responsibility of the schools, whether government or private, to provide holistic education to students so that they can efficiently discharge their duties to themselves, to the community, to the nation as a whole and to humanity at large.
