ANCSU acknowledges Government for providing new college buses, appeals for recruitment of bus drivers

The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has acknowledged the State Government, Minister Higher Education and Tourism and the Department concerned for responding to the genuine demand of the Union and providing new buses in Kohima Science College Jotsoma (Autonomous), Kohima College Kohima, Dimapur Government College, Phek Government College and Fazl Ali College. Further, understanding the grievances of the students, the Higher Education and Technical Department has posted Principals against vacancies, informed the Union in a press release issued on May 21.

“The Union expresses its confidence that meritocracy is strictly maintained in such promotion and transfer to avoid future complications. Further, we appealed the state government and department concerned to recruit bus drivers to ensure smooth functioning of the students’ transportation in order to elude exacerbated situation in the colleges,” stated the ANCSU.

The Union had earlier, through its representation on June 7, 2024, demanded to provide additional buses in Government Colleges. Subsequently, through its representation (dated 10/03/2025 ref.no. ANCSU-C&S/HE&T/Rep-3/2023-2025) requested for urgent posting of Principals in Dimapur Government College, Zunheboto Government College and Wangkhao Government College, expressing the difficulties of academic and administrative functioning in the colleges.

“This prudent action has strengthened the educational institution and credence that the state government has serious concern for the students. The ANCSU is committed to continuing its mission of representing the aspirations and voice of the college fraternity in addressing the concerns and needs of the students in all circumstances,” affirmed the Union.
