Singson reaffirms support for Naga reunification under Kitovi’s leadership
In a separate statement, C Singson, a veteran member of the GPRN/NSCN from the Kuki Region, has issued a heartfelt appeal for Naga reunification and reaffirmed allegiance to the leadership of N Kitovi Zhimomi, Convenor of the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs).
In a signed statement titled “Policy for Re-Unification & Statement”, Singson emphasized the importance of unity among the Naga political groups and the need to uphold the “Agreed Position” signed with the Government of India in 2017.
Reflecting on decades of political turmoil, factionalism, and sacrifices made by the Kuki community in the Naga national movement, Singson lamented the sidelining and belittling of Kukis in the broader political discourse.
He recalled his role as a signatory in the historic 2009 anti-fratricidal agreement spearheaded by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), expressing concern that such efforts had not yielded due recognition for Kuki contributions.
“As a veteran, my desperate and humble attempt to sustain the goal with blood and tears… has so far been sidelined and belittled as if no better than they were in the bud,” Singson wrote, referencing the long and painful journey towards peace.
Calling for a unified way forward, Singson said he found “no other better political slogan than the only clarion call for re-unification,” urging all like-minded national workers and leaders—both old and new—to rally behind the NNPGs and Kitovi Zhimomi, Covenor, Working Committee of NNPGs.
