Badminton coaching camp for girls under BBBP concludes

The District Administration in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of

Women, Kohima (DHEW) and Kohima District Badminton Association (KDBA) held the concluding program of the two weeks Badminton coaching camp for girls under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative which was conducted from June 23 to July 7 at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Thegabakha Kohima on July 7.

Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, NCS graced the program as the special guest and stated that it is important to identify one’s interests and talents by attending camps and programs such as this. He also encouraged the participants to excel in their academic studies while cultivating their talents in sports and other fields.

He urged the participants to be consistent and expressed his hope that through this camp, they would go on to win medals and awards in the field of badminton and make Kohima district proud.

Kesoneinuo Kense, Gender Specialist, DHEW Kohima highlighted on BBBP scheme and its activities and Khriekuonuo Khezhie, Women Secretary, KDBA presented the summary report and brief statistics of the coaching camp, reporting girl students between the age of 8 to 15 years participated. She also stated that sports shoes and racquets were provided to the participants in need.

Participation certificates and cash prizes were presented to all participants of the coaching camp & the concluding remark was given by Kekhrie Pfukha, VP, Administration, KDBA.

The program was chaired by Seto Khate, Hon. Secretary, KDBA and the invocation was led by Dr SN Among Jamir, Pastor, Chandmari Fellowship Kohima Ao Baptist Church.
