Don Bosco College Kohima celebrates 8th Graduation Day

Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) celebrated its 8th Graduation Day with pride and enthusiasm, honouring the achievements of the graduating batch in a ceremony filled with academic spirit and reflection.

The event was graced by Prof. Rosemary Dzüvichü, Director of the Centre for Peace and Gender Studies & Co-Convenor of the Global Naga Forum, as the Special Guest. In her address, she urged the graduates to “dream big” and embrace the abundant opportunities available in today’s fast-evolving world.

She said, “This is the time for you to dream big dreams. The world is changing, there is so much competition but there are also so much of opportunities which your parents and grandparents did not have and which many of us, even people like us did not have. You have the world at your fingertips and therefore make sure that you explore the best that is available to you after your graduation”.

She also shared valuable insights on the various opportunities available in higher education, leveraging scholarships and fellowships and exploring international avenues for academic and personal growth.

Further, she encouraged the graduates to pursue B.Ed training or entrepreneurship in farming, highlighting the growing demands in these fields.

Kezienuo, Controller of Examinations, presented the result analysis, announcing an impressive 94% pass rate. Of the 303 graduates, 13 students were recognized as Nagaland University Toppers.

The students were felicitated with certificates and mementos for their academic excellence.

Ikupu Tuccu, founder of NPSC Mentors also honoured Benchumlo Kikon, Department of History, for securing 1st Runner-up in the 1st Inkspire Annual Essay Competition All Nagaland, 2025, on the topic, 25 Years of Hornbill Festival: Critically Examine its Success and Failures.

The program was chaired by Neikethonuo Chielie, Department of English, 5th semester, invocation prayer by Fr Dr Mattam Xavier, Rector, DBCK. The event also featured special number by Jesus Youth DBCK, speeches on behalf of the Graduates and PTA were delivered by Novito Rhetso, Department of Botany) and Kekhrongupeu Akami, PTA Executive Member, DBCK respectively followed by vote of thanks proposed by Dr Pinky Sagolsem, Assistant Professor, Department of English.

Earlier, Principal Fr. Dr. Tious Varghese welcomed the attendees and addressed the special invitee for the event, congratulated the graduates expressing contentment for the outstanding result and encouraged to uphold the values learnt from the college and carry the spirit of “Duty and Joy”.
