The Angami Women Organisation (AWO) expresses outrage and condemned the heinous act of attempted rape and murder committed against a woman from Botsa Village on the evening of July 16. The assault occurred at knifepoint while she was returning from her field.
“This despicable act allegedly committed by one Khrietuolie Kense from Tsiemekhu Basa village is not only a crime against an individual, but an attack on the dignity, safety and rights of all Women in our society,” AWO president, Neithono R Sothu and general secretary, Atono Kense stated.

The AWO demanded a swift, thorough and impartial investigation by the law enforcing agency/concerned authorities and ensure that justice be delivered without delay and in accordance with the full provisions of the law.
