The Kense clan of Tuophezou has condemned the heinous crime of alleged attempted to rape and murder by one Khrietuolie Kense of Tsiemekhu Basa Village on the evening of July 16.

Stating that the perpetrator of such barbaric and inhuman nature of crime has no place in today’s civilised society, the clan empathized with the victim, who had to undergo grave physical injuries and serious mental trauma, having the tendency to haunt her for a long time to come.

The clan prayed for her speedy recovery from both the physical injuries and the mental trauma.

The clan further urged the law enforcing agencies for proper investigation, necessary charges and prompt trail to award befitting and exemplary punishment to the culprit, as per provisions of the law. It said the same should serve as a deterrent for recurrence of such grave nature of crimes, particularly against our women.

“Under no circumstances and no one should try to circumvent the law and no leniency should be allowed in this particular case,” it said in a press release issued by its president, Kevisa Kense and general secretary, Kevilhousa Kense.
