Three unknown miscreants reportedly robbed an All Nagaland Taxi Association local taxi driver, bearing Registration No. NL01 T-A0183 at gunpoint between Viswema and Kedima village on July 21.
According to the driver, the miscreants had hired the taxi from Razhü Point on Monday evening. After reaching the spot, they held him by his neck and pushed him out of the taxi. He said one of the accomplice started the car and they fled.
The taxi driver also mentioned that the robbers took cash amounting to Rs 4000 from his wallet. Although the identity of the culprits cannot be ascertained, the driver said that the three persons were middle-aged.
The victim, along with the owner of the taxi had earlier filed an FIR at North Police Station and investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Victor Rütsa, Assistant Treasurer of All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) mentioned that ANTA officials are in constant touch with the police. He urged all the citizens to inform about any leads to ANTA or the police.

Strongly condemning the incident, the ANTA said this primitive mode of gun culture and robbery cannot be tolerated. It appealed to the law enforcing agencies and the concerned department to book the culprits involved at the earliest and award them befitting punishment under the strictest sections of law.
The Association assured to extend support and cooperation to the government agencies concerned for booking the culprit stating, “we shall leave no stone unturned for justice to be delivered.”
