In a significant milestone for Zisaji Presidency College in Kiphire, Nagaland, Vilila Jinglaru, a fifth-semester student of the Department of Political Science, has been elected as the first female General Secretary of the students’ union body for the academic session 2025-26.

The ZPCSU election 2025-26 was held on August 9, 2025, under the supervision of the Election Commission, ZPCSU. Dr. Phyobenthung, Principal of Zisaji Presidency College, encouraged the contesting candidates to adhere to the recommendations of the JM Lyngdoh Commission on students’ union body elections, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic values.

The election process was closely monitored by Rozy T Sangtam, SDO Civil Kiphire, who was present with her team to ensure fairness from voting to the declaration of results.

Police personnel were also deployed to maintain law and order within the campus.

Notably, out of the eight executive posts, four were held by lady candidates, highlighting the growing participation of women in student politics.

Rozy T Sangtam congratulated the winning candidates on their success.

The college expressed its appreciation to the SDO Civil Kiphire, SP Office Kiphire, and all stakeholders for their coordination and support, which contributed to the smooth, fair, and successful conduct of the election. Miss Vilila Jinglaru’s historic win marks a significant step forward for women’s leadership in the college.
