1399 beneficiaries registered for PMMVY in Nagaland

The Department of Social Welfare conducted a month long special drive for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yoiana from July 15  to August 15. The scheme provides financial assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers.

At the state level, Nagaland registered 1399 beneficiaries during the special drive, reflecting the combined efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and District Administrations

Wokha District excelled by securing 4th position at the national level and 1st position at the state level in the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) Enrolment Drive held from July  15 to August 15. The district achieved 511% of the enrolment target set by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, marking it as one of the best-performing districts in the country.

The PMMVY scheme is a conditional Maternity Benefit Program using the platform of the Anganwadi services. All eligible beneficiaries will receive cash incentives of ₹5000 for the first child and ₹ 6000 for the second child, provided it’s a girl child through Direct Benefit Transfer. PMMVY is an ongoing program and eligible beneficiaries can visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre for registration.
