NLA pays tribute to former Governor La. Ganesan

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday made an obituary reference to late La. Ganesan, former Governor of Nagaland, who passed away on August 15. Ganesan served as the 21st Governor of Nagaland from February 2022 until his untimely demise on August 15 last at Chennai.

Remembering Ganesan as a distinguished leader and administrator, Rio praised his lifelong dedication in the service of the country. He stated that late Ganesan lived an illustrious life, marked by simplicity and unwavering commitment for the welfare of the people.

The chief minister noted that during his tenure, Ganesan guided the state with his wisdom and compassion, and made Raj Bhavan accessible to people from every walk of life. He also recalled that as the governor of Nagaland, Ganesan travelled intensively across the state, engaging with civil society organisations, government officials and security forces posted in the bordering districts.

The state assembly also paid tribute to late Nungsangyapang, former MLA who passed away on August 8.

The house observed a minute of silence for the departed souls.
